The Office of Community Affairs and Outreach Programs is pleased to partner with Asian Pop-Up Cinema to host the 20th edition of the Asian Pop-Up Film Festival on Saturday, April 11, 2026. This one-day festival will take place in the Schulz Auditorium in Michael Paul Galvin Tower, from 2–6 p.m.

This season, we are featuring films from Japan and Korea that are family friendly! You can view the trailers for Lucky Lu and The Chatterboxes below.

Parking is free in Lot D4, located on State Street between 35th and 34th streets.

A delivery driver in New York City discovers his e-bike has been stolen. With his family en route after many years apart, Lu must contend with a community that has turned its back on him while he tries to replace the only thing promising to keep his family afloat.

The story revolves around a family of deaf Japanese shop owners and a Kurdish family who move into an old Tokyo neighborhood. When a misunderstanding starts a war of words between the two families, the only hearing daughter in the Japanese family and the only Kurdish family member who can speak Japanese are brought in as interpreters.
