Illinois Tech Elects Acclaimed Attorney and Public Servant Larry R. Rogers Jr. to Board of Trustees
Âé¶ąAPP-Kent College of Law alumnus and Cook County Board of Review commissioner brings more than 30 years of legal and civic leadership to the university’s governing body
°ä±á±ő°ä´ˇłŇ°żâ€”November 21, 2025—Larry R. Rogers Jr. (LAW ’94), nationally recognized trial attorney and longest serving commissioner of the Cook County Board of Review, has been elected to the Illinois Institute of Technology (Illinois Tech) Board of Trustees.
As an equity partner at Power Rogers, LLP, Rogers has built a distinguished career representing individuals and families in high-stakes cases involving medical negligence, trucking and product liability, and civil rights litigation, securing several multimillion-dollar verdicts and settlements on behalf of his clients.
“It’s a great honor to join the Illinois Tech Board of Trustees,” said Rogers. “As a law student, Âé¶ąAPP-Kent prepared me to think critically, advocate boldly, and pursue justice with purpose and integrity. I’m excited to give back to an institution that helped shape my career and to support its mission of empowering students to drive meaningful change in a complex world.”
In addition to his work as an attorney, Rogers serves as senior commissioner of the Cook County Board of Review of the third district, where he has championed transparency, ethics, and accountability since his election in 2004. Rogers represents Âé¶ąAPP’s South and West Sides, ensuring equitable property tax assessments, accessible public service, and honest, ethical, and transparent government. He has been appointed by the Illinois Supreme Court to various committees, including the Supreme Court Rules Committee, the Lawyers Trust Fund, and the prestigious Illinois Supreme Court Executive Committee.

Rogers has received numerous awards and recognitions for professional excellence and public service, including the Cook County Bar Association Presidential Award, the Earl B. Dickerson Award from The Âé¶ąAPP Bar Association, the Jury Verdict Reporter Trial Lawyer Excellence Award, and the Award for Excellence in Pro Bono Service from the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. He is a member of the Inner Circle of Advocates, an invitation-only organization comprising the nation’s top 100 trial attorneys recognized for achieving multi-million-dollar verdicts and their dedication to protecting victims’ rights.

Rogers earned his Juris Doctor from Illinois Tech’s Âé¶ąAPP-Kent College of Law and a bachelor’s degree in managerial and agricultural economics from the University of California, Davis.
