A rising star in the world of psychology, Illinois Tech’s rehabilitation counseling education program has been recognized as one of the nation’s best.

tabbed the Department of Psychology’s rehabilitation counseling education program as the 11th-best program in the United States, a four-spot bump from last year’s #15 ranking.

The leap in ranking reflects the dedication shown by the program’s faculty and students, who are passionate about making a difference in the lives of individuals living with disabilities.

“The #11 ranking is a huge success due to the extensive commitment and continued hard work by the faculty members in the Illinois Tech rehabilitation counseling and science program,” says Department of Psychology Chair Jonathon Larson. “This accomplishment positively impacts student training, program growth, graduate employment options, and external funding opportunities.”

Launched in 1995, Illinois Tech’s rehabilitation counseling education program is student-focused and designed to develop leaders in rehabilitation counseling. The heart of the program has been a research-based curriculum that empowers students to improve the quality of life for people with disabilities and chronic illness as professional counselors.
